We’re on the ship! At last we made it yesterday to our home for the next 2 weeks – the MS Roald Amundsen!
We had great visit to a local winery on our way to Valparaiso, where our ship was docked.
The boarding process was not well planned, but after nearly 2 hours in various lines we boarded the ship and got our muster station training and were issued our expedition jackets. The views of the harbor were beautiful as we were docked and as we finally got moving around 9:30 p.m. Apparently since this was the first time that the ship had entered Chile, they decided to do a complete review (room by room) of the ship before releasing us to leave the port.
